She gave as good as she got. In one scene she rips him a new one for being late to pick out china for the house. The way she was cussin' him out made me wonder why she was marrying someone she had so little respect for.

I'm sorry, but I have to say this re Kim Kardashian (fluff thread, sort of)...
by AGuest inbut i do so to be fair (may you all have peace!):.
if she were my daughter, and kris humphries said to her what he said to ms. kim, when she voiced her concerns (again) about not wanting to move to minnesota (which she did before getting married and he "pretended" to accept), i might tell her he's the wrong guy/man, too.
no, i don't believe in divorce "just because,"... and don't know that i would tell my daughter to divorce him (she made her bed, so to say), but.... what did he say?

I don't even know what to say about this game, OTWO. Are they serious? Maybe they'll recall the game when in a year or two WT changes a major teaching or belief.
Remember those JW flashcards from decades ago?

Just saw an elderly JW man...
by zengalileo inhe was walking with such a slump, dragging his feet, carrying a jacket, magazines barely visible just hanging from his fingertips.
if body language has any validity to it, this man was deeply discouraged and depressed.
i remember that slump too.

There is a 70 ish year old long time elder here who recently walked into his congregation during the meeting. He dropped several taped up boxes of literature on the counter and told the attendants that he never wanted to be contacted again.
It's never too late to get out.

I remember watching Footloose (the original) and being bothered by it. It was strangely familiar. The characters in the movie were being oh so suppressed. Yet we JW kids weren't?
These posts are hilarious.

Lurkers to any of mankkeli's treads did you notice that he never answered my brain from thinking? question on how not to use my
by life is to short inlurkers i clearly asked mankkeli how to stop my brain from thinking.
really jehovah came to earth and saw a man who had a horrible marriage, and was involved with the spirit world and jehovah said to himself "there's a man who i can work with to do my will?
to keep believing that i could live forever.

Although we try not to let the likes of Mankeli get to us, it can be maddening trying to deal with them. I'm so glad we've found a place where there are more who are on the right side of the argument. Imagine being back at the hall where you're wondering, "Is anybody else getting this?"

When I was a teenager this 20-something pioneer took me "under her wings". One day while bouncing from return visit to bible study she told me that "rock music has the beat of sexual intercourse". I asked her what she meant by that. She intertwined her fingers and made a pumping motion with her hands and simulated the beat of sex.
I do remember stumbling on that important nugget of enlightenment somewhere in the litterature.
ROFL at the comments above you guys. Good thread Wobble.

Did you ever think.....'Why Don't We Kill Off the Anointed'?
by Diest ini know it is an odd thought but when i was 7 or so and suffering through a meeting, i thought.....'why dont they get them in one room, and get rid of them so that we can live in the new order.
' afterall they are going straight to heaven to rule with jesus....not like death is a bad thing in that case.. it makes me laugh now at the simplistic mind set.
but on some levels it was a genius idea...well it was before i realized that it was a sham..

LOL. I actually had similar thoughts when I was a little girl. I remember wishing they would all hurry and die so the new system would come faster. What a crackpot religion, huh?

i was raised in a jw family but never got baptized.. my father used to make me and my sister put old awakes and watchtower's in the trick or treaters' bags.

I was almost in tears as we took the kids around this evening. So happy they had fun and could participate with the neighborhood kids. They had a ball.
Welcome Badfish. I know how you feel.

I was always embarrassed once my bible studies progressed. I never felt comfortable explaining prophecies and the way the org is structured. Being familiar with two words would have helped me tremendously.
